Genetics
This quarter, we (10.3) moved to biology class. Our first assignment was to create an experiment related to the properties of water. So in the beginning after getting all the criteria documents, we started the introduction/first sections of the lab report. Then, we moved on to plants and animal cells. We studied the parts' names and functions first. After learning the basics, we studied the genetics and heredity, since it involves cells. We also studied about DNA, and how useful it is in the crime world. We had worksheets too to help us understand the lessons more. During the early stages of the DNA study, we made an essay for our ‘One World’ criteria about DNA profiling.
MYP Fundamental Concept: Holistic Learning
This topic had been studied by most students before grade 10. So since we study this deeper this year, it means we apply holistic learning when we add more detailed information about this to our knowledge.
This quarter, I think I did quite well. However, I don’t know my exact scores since we haven’t got our scores back yet. What I could’ve done better was to probably listen more attentively since it is quite a confusing topic.
