The focus of holistic learning is the discovery of relationships between areas of knowledge, between the individual, communities and the world. The concept of holistic learning has led to the implementation of the Areas of Interaction. As you learn that real world issues require you to think outside of one subject you will learn to approach issues in a more successful way. As you discover how knowledge is interrelated you will be more motivated to learn, have a deeper longer lasting understand and be able to transfer knowledge to real life situations.
Communication
The importance of communication, verbal and non-verbal, can never be overstated. A good command of expression in all of its forms is fundamental to learning. Language acquisition is crucial for exploring and sustaining cultural identity, personal development and intercultural understanding. You are required to develop at least two languages within the MYP, usually your mother tongue (best language) and another language.
