What is a Digital Portfolio?
Digital Portfolios can be thought of as mirror. People look in the mirror to see what they look like and how they have changed. If you look in the mirror when you first wake up and then look in the mirror after you have showered and fixed your hair, you should see an improvement. If you look in the mirror and do not like what you see, you can make changes. Just as a mirror is a reflection of one’s visual appearance, so an e-portfolio is a reflection of your academic performance.
Digital portfolios accumulate, organize, share and display your work and information. A portfolio is a sample of your work, communicating your range of abilities, attitudes, experiences, and achievements. Like a mirror, a good e-portfolio needs to include reflection. You need to demonstrate what you have done and reflect on how you will improve.
The grade 9 portfolio will be based around the Areas of Interaction. You will need to understand the Areas of Interaction and relate them to your course work. The Areas of Interaction are: Human Ingenuity, Environments, Community and Service, Health and Social Welfare and Approaches to Learning. (Q1-Community and Service and ATL, Q2-Human Ingenuity and ATL, Q3-Environments and ATL, Q4-Health and Social Education and ATL).
